Dentons has reappointed Paul Jarvis as chief executive officer for the UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME).
His second three-year term starts on May 1, 2024.
Jarvis was appointed Middle East managing partner in 2016 and has served as UKIME CEO since 2021. The finance lawyer is based in the firm’s Abu Dhabi office, where he has been since 2009.
“It has been a privilege to lead the talented lawyers and professionals we have throughout the UK, Ireland and Middle East for the past three years,” said Jarvis in a statement. “I’m both proud and grateful for the opportunity to serve a second term.”
During his first term he launched a five-year strategy for the region, which he plans to deliver over his next term.
The strategy focuses on three areas: ‘golden thread’ which ensures connectivity throughout practice areas, sectors, and geographies; ‘global presence’ which leverages the firm’s international network to support clients; and ‘client uplift’ which aims to improve its service using technology and innovation.
“Our aim for the next three years is to deliver the strategy,” continued Jarvis. “Dentons’ USP of serving clients’ legal needs everywhere in the world they need to do business is a compelling message for the multinational companies the strategy is designed to attract.”
Dentons’ three-year revenue growth in the UKIME region is on course to reach 20% by the end of the 2023/24 financial year, according to a statement from the firm.
Earlier this month the firm made two corporate partner hires in Abu Dhabi. Stephen McKenna and Ross Barfoot, both formerly of Clyde & Co, joined after more than a decade at the firm.
Elsewhere in August last year, the firm moved into a larger office in Jeddah as part of its expansion plans in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The development followed the firm’s recent office move in Riyadh.
