International law firm Addleshaw Goddard today announced it has opened an office in Abu Dhabi after securing a licence to operate in the UAE capital.
The office is located within Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the capital’s international financial centre.
It is the firm’s fifth office in the region, joining existing presences in Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, and Muscat.
“Establishing a presence in Abu Dhabi is a vital step in our regional strategy and reflects our commitment to supporting our clients where they need us most,” said the firm’s Middle East head, Robin Hickman. “With Abu Dhabi’s visionary economic plans and rapidly diversifying economy, this expansion enables us to play a key role in delivering legal solutions that drive growth and innovation.”

Abu Dhabi is abuzz with activity, driven by sovereign wealth fund investments and cross-border deals. Energy transitions, digitalisation, and supply chain diversification bring further opportunities to the UAE capital. US-headquartered global law firms Paul Hastings and Skadden recently expanded to Abu Dhabi.
Addleshaw Goddard said the new office will provide on-the-ground support for the firm’s growing client base in sectors such as financial services, energy, infrastructure, and technology.
The firm recently launched its office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and marked a decade of its operations in the Middle East where it has 27 partners and close to 100 lawyers.
In its latest financial results, the firm reported a 28% surge in Middle East revenue. Speaking to Law Middle East at the time, Hickman said he planned to open an office in in at least one other city.
