Akin, Kirkland and Sidley lawyers to speak at Law Middle East M&A Summit

Lawyers from Akin, Kirkland & Ellis, and Sidley Austin are to speak at Law Middle East‘s inaugural M&A Summit 2025, taking place on the afternoon of September 23 at the St. Regis Downtown Dubai. Secure your place.

The speakers, who are based in the regional offices of the US-headquartered global law firms, include:

Baddar advises on domestic and cross-border deals with a particular focus on private equity, M&A, and joint ventures. He represents clients across sectors, including financial services, technology, fintech, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, energy & infrastructure, health care & life sciences, and aviation, space & defence. His clients range from sovereign wealth funds and government-owned entities to private equity firms and investment authorities.

Lone advises on M&A, joint ventures, and general corporate matters. He has represented Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) on a number of matters, including its recent internet of things joint venture with STC. Prior to joining Kirkland & Ellis, he worked in the Dubai office of Latham & Watkins and for Clifford Chance in its Dubai and London offices.

Baxter focuses on outbound, inbound and domestic transactions involving the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and other Middle Eastern and North African markets across a number of sectors, including financial services, technology, insurance, healthcare, energy, and food & beverage. His practice includes public and private M&A, joint ventures, restructurings and special situations, corporate reorganisations, and general corporate advisory work. He advises large foreign companies and regional investors, including private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations, listed companies and family offices. Prior to joining Sidley Austin, he worked in the Dubai office of Freshfields and London offices of Allen & Overy, Travers Smith, and Slaughter and May.
