Ashurst has added a new corporate partner in Dubai as it looks to further expand its private capital capabilities in the Middle East and international markets.
Maha Osman joins from Freshfields, where she was most recently a senior associate, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She has experience in private capital investments, particularly in the Middle East and Africa, and works with financial sponsors, including private equity investors and sovereign wealth funds, on a broad range of transactions.
“We are very pleased to welcome Maha to Ashurst, as we continue to expand our global private capital capability to meet client demand,” said Simon Rahimzada, Middle East head of corporate. “Private capital is a pivotal investment strategy in the Middle East for both regional and international investors and Maha’s arrival perfectly complements our existing areas of strength. Her extensive experience in supporting private capital investment firms and sovereign entities in the UAE/KSA as they invest into Africa also means we are well positioned to drive accelerated growth in this area.”
Middle East managing partner David Charlier added: “Maha’s appointment reflects our strategic focus on growing our private capital capabilities and signifies Ashurst’s commitment to investing in its offering in the Middle East. A highly regarded practitioner, Maha’s skill for navigating complex investments across emerging markets will be hugely beneficial for our clients. She is a great addition to our corporate team, and we are thrilled to welcome her to Ashurst.”
Her addition follows the hire of corporate partner Vasi Papadopoulos in Dubai earlier this year.
