Baker Botts has announced the relocation of its global head of construction from London to Dubai.

Stuart Jordan has moved across offices in response to growing client demands in the Middle East, according to a statement, as well as to further support and grow his existing practice in the region.

He was recently appointed global head of construction at the firm, which focuses on international energy, technology, and life sciences.

Jordan, who previously lived and practised in the Middle East, will focus on expanding the team and providing strategic oversight for global and regional collaboration.

His relocation builds on his existing practice in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East, and provides on-ground support for leading construction projects in the region, with a focus on energy and infrastructure projects. He is a key advisor on the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project underway in Saudi Arabia.

With Jordan’s relocation, Baker Botts counts five partners in Dubai.

In February, the firm appointed Alexander Hendry as a partner in the corporate team and head of the Middle East technology practice, based in Dubai. Last year the firm expanded its projects team with the hire of partner Shane Wilson and counsel Chad Passlow in Dubai.
