Cleary Gottlieb corporate partner heads to Clifford Chance

Clifford Chance has hired a corporate partner from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.

Lynn Ammar joins the firm in September, operating from the Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices.

Ammar was previously a partner at Cleary Gottlieb, where she spent 12 years in the firm’s Abu Dhabi and Paris offices, according to a statement from Clifford Chance.

She advises corporate and public sector clients, including major national oil companies, sovereign wealth funds, and large pension funds, on transactions across industries with a particular focus on energy and renewables, healthcare, technology, and consumer products. She has focused on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for more than a decade.

Commenting on the hire, Clifford Chance’s regional managing partner and M&A lead in the Middle East, Mohammed Al-Shukairy, said: “Clifford Chance is at the forefront of M&A activity in the region, acting for leading corporates, strategic investors and financial sponsors. Ammar’s hire brings the total number of M&A partners at Clifford Chance’s Middle East offices to 13 across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Istanbul, and Riyadh.
