CMS has advised digital platform Bidzi on its launch in the UAE.
Bidzi supports buyers and sellers of private businesses on mergers & acquisitions (M&A) by offering an all-in-one solution; from due diligence to marketing to closing.
Its entry comes amid growing demand for M&A support, particularly among small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The UAE is projected to have one million SMEs by 2030.
The CMS team was led by Dubai corporate partner Patrik Daintry, who said he was proud to bring an “accessible and much-needed M&A solution to the SME market”.
“Bidzi’s platform is poised to fill significant gaps in the traditional M&A ecosystem, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Bidzi as they transform the M&A landscape and embark on the next stage of their journey,” he said.
Bidzi was launched in January 2023 by co-founders Akshay Oberai Dosaj and Asif Rashid. Dosaj, the company’s chief executive, is a corporate lawyer who previously worked at Norton Rose Fulbright in London. Rashid is the chief operating officer, a technologist and investor, who previously worked at Microsoft.
Bidzi is a member of CMS’ equIP programme, which works with start-ups to support their growth through legal advice and training.
