CMS has strengthened its energy & infrastructure practice in the Middle East with the hire of a new partner.

Keith Bullen joins the international firm from EY Law MENA, where he led the energy & infrastructure legal team, CMS said in a statement. He will split his time between Riyadh and Dubai.

Bullen advises on the development of infrastructure, power, and utilities projects across the Middle East and North Africa. He has advised on a number of transactions and renewable energy procurements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Sultanate of Oman.

Prior to EY, he was at law firms DLA Piper, Baker Botts, Hogan Lovells, and Dentons in Dubai and London, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“Energy and infrastructure continue to be key sectors for our firm, and offer significant growth opportunities across the Middle East,” said David Moore, managing partner, UAE at CMS. “As countries like Saudi Arabia prioritise the expansion of their renewable energy capacity, Keith’s presence will not only strengthen our ability to meet our clients’ needs on their key projects but also add significant muscle to our client offering.”

The latest appointment continues the firm’s growth across the Middle East. CMS opened an office in Riyadh last year and relocated its Abu Dhabi office to the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). In January this year, the firm appointed former Clifford Chance partner and disputes head James Abbott in Dubai.
