Natasha Zahid joins the firm's office in Dubai.

Taylor Wessing has appointed a partner to head its disputes and investigations practice in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Natasha Zahid joins the firm’s office in Dubai from Clyde & Co, where she was most recently a legal director, according to her LinkedIn.

Her practice covers contentious and non-contentious work, with a focus on sectors including private client, regional family business, real estate, construction, banking & finance, hospitality, energy, defence contracting, technology, and logistics.

At Clyde & Co she was sector lead for regional family business in the disputes team and arbitration lead in the firm’s Advocacy Unit.

“I am thrilled to welcome Natasha to Taylor Wessing,” said Ronald Graham, head of Taylor Wessing’s Dubai office, in a statement. “Her arrival is a significant step for our Dubai office as we continue to grow in core areas to meet client demand. She is a well-known expert, particularly for her work in high-end contentious private wealth disputes, across the entire Middle Eastern region.”

Zahid added: “I am delighted to be joining Taylor Wessing in Dubai. The firm has a strong reputation in the international disputes market, particularly in the private wealth/family business space, and I look forward to tapping into that network to further the offering across the Middle East.”

This latest partner hire is the sixth announced by the firm this year. Ryan Ferry and Giles Crown, both litigation specialists, joined Taylor Wessing in January, while Charlotte Witherington made the jump from Freshfields to bolster the firm’s financial services regulatory capability, Shervin Shameli joined to lead its funds offering, and Trish McCarvill launched the firm’s Irish tax practice in Dublin.

In July 2023, Taylor Wessing launched an intellectual property practice in the MENA region, with the hire of partner Munir Suboh from BSA Ahmad Bin Hezeem & Associates.
