White & Case corporate partner Ashley Ballard has relocated from London to Doha in a move the firm said will strengthen its transactional capabilities in the Middle East.

Ballard has spent the past 20 years based in the firm’s London office, six of which he served as head of the corporate team. His experience with the firm also includes working in the Istanbul, Milan, and Prague offices.

He relocated to Doha at the start of April 2025, where he will continue to advise his existing international client base as well as work with colleagues to support clients in the region, a spokesperson for White & Case told Law Middle East.

Ballard is a highly experienced mergers & acquisitions (M&A) lawyer who focuses on corporate and corporate finance transactions with a particular emphasis on cross-border M&A, joint ventures and restructurings in a variety of industries including financial institutions, oil & gas, electronics, and aviation.

“Ashley Ballard’s relocation to Doha represents another strategic investment in our strong existing M&A capabilities in the Middle East, where White & Case has a seven-decade track record of supporting clients on their most important, complex, multi-jurisdictional and regional matters,” the spokesperson said.

White & Case has had an office in Doha for more than 15 years, since it opened in 2009. The firm has more than 130 lawyers in the Middle East, based in six offices (Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Doha, Dubai, Muscat, Riyadh) across five countries (Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE).

Ballard joined White & Case in 1998 and was promoted to partner at the start of 2004.
