Habib Al Mulla and Partners has today announced the opening of an office in Moscow, Russia.
It is the UAE law firm’s second office launch within six months since it opened its first international office in Istanbul, Turkey, last November.
Habib Al Mulla has said it is the first UAE law firm to establish a presence in Russia, and internationally.
It plans to service Emirati businesses and investments venturing into the Russian market and beyond, and follows increasing demand among its client base for legal services, particularly in commercial and investment law, as well as dispute resolution, a statement from the firm said.
Habib Al Mulla has also committed to sharing knowledge with local professionals and new hires through workshops, exchange programmes, and training sessions, the statement said.
Commenting on the firm’s expansion, founding partner Dr Habib Al Mulla said: “Our new presence in Russia takes Habib Al Mulla and Partners to the global scene, making us the first Arab law firm to expand internationally.”
Continuing, he said:
“We are committed to serving outbound investments from the Emirates and our clients with regional and international business interests. We will join them in jurisdictions that they require and work with them to best serve their interests. In line with the UAE leadership’s vision of expanding Emirati companies to global markets, we are proud to be a truly Emirati law firm that is going international.”
Habib Al Mulla has three offices in the Middle East, in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Istanbul.
For now, Danila Kriuchkov, junior associate, will commute between the firm’s Dubai and Moscow offices, and as the business grows, the firm will recruit from the local market, Dr Habib told Law Middle East.
In a post on LinkedIn, Dr Habib said the firm is exploring the possibility of establishing three more offices in key Arab and international capitals.
In 2022, in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a number of international law firms exited Russia and closed their offices.
