White & Case names four new local partners in UAE

They are based in the firm's Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices, and specialise in a mix of transactional areas including investment funds, capital markets, and mergers & acquisitions.

White & Case has promoted four lawyers to local partner in the UAE.

The local partners are based in the firm’s Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices, and specialise in a mix of transactional areas including investment funds, capital markets, and mergers & acquisitions.

At White & Case, the position of local partner is offered in select regions and locations where it is common market practice, according to the firm. It is a step towards admission to the partnership.

Marie-Sophie Bandeira Vieira and Yannick Whorms have been named as local partners in the firm’s investment funds practice, based in Dubai.

Capital markets lawyer Marcin Zawadzki has also been named a local partner in Dubai.

Aleksandra Stadnik, meanwhile, has been promoted to local partner in the firm’s mergers & acquisitions practice, based in Abu Dhabi.

They are part of a wider promotions round of 22 new local partners across the firm’s global offices. The promotions are effective January 1, 2025.

At the same time, the firm announced the promotion of 27 lawyers to counsel. In the Middle East, this includes Olga Klyzhenko who has been named counsel in the firm’s project development and finance practice, based in Abu Dhabi.

“Representing 12 global practices and 21 offices across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific, the 49 lawyers being promoted have a wide range of skills, experience and backgrounds that underline the diverse and truly global nature of White & Case,” said White & Case chair Heather McDevitt. “They have all made significant contributions to the firm’s success through the exceptional service they provide to our clients, and we are proud to see them take this important step in their careers.”

In addition to the internal promotions, White & Case has hired three local partners into the region so far this year. They are Omar Anwar (M&A, Dubai/London), David Berman (white collar, Dubai), and Kate Chapman (debt finance, Doha).

News of the promotions comes after the firm appointed four new partners in the region—the highest of any firm so far this year.
